Are you tired of endless Facebook notifications landing among your emails?

Are you tired of getting endless notifications of messages from Facebook landing in your emails telling you that FB friends have sent you a message?

A couple of days ago here in India, I waiting for hours for a week’s emails to be downloaded into the In folder of my emails folder, mostly due to Facebook messages. Download speed is much slower in rural India.

Facebook forwards all notifications of messages from our Faceboook friends into our email folders. I have hundreds of notifications in a week.

I checked on line what you have to do to end those endless email notifications.

Here’s what you do.

1.      Log into your Facebook account as you normally would. You will land on the home page of your Facebook account.

2.      Click Account in the top right navigation bar of your Facebook screen. Select Account Settings from the drop down. You will be taken to the My Account page of Facebook.

3.      Select the Notifications tab on the My Account page located up top.

4.      Uncheck ALL the boxes in the email column. If you uncheck the box, you will not receive an email. If you do want to receive an email for any of the notification types leave the box checked.

5.      Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page after you have made your selections.

6.      Your changes will be saved and you will no longer receive Facebook emails for any notification.

PS. If you ever want to receive emails just repeat the process and check the boxes for items for which you would like to receive emails.

Facebook authorities refuse to provide a simple button on our account settings to stop the endless daily notifications from Facebook.

If we uncheck all the emails boxes, it’s a protest against the system. So, then we decide when we use Facebook rather than endless daily messages as reminders from Facebook. Tell your friends. Many will appreciate it.
