Dharma refers to any teachings and practices that contribute to waking us up.

In March in our Dharma Facilitators Programme in Germany, we discussed a discourse of the Buddha. The Buddha gave a discourse on the 11 Ways for a fulfilled life. The Buddha offered a wide vision through practical considerations towards a genuine awakening and liberation.  I thought I would share with Facebook friends.

In the Greater Discourse on the Cowherd, the Buddha listed the 11 ways as:1.    Knowing of form and body as nature, as elements,
2.    Understands his or her actions
3.    Lets go of what needs to be let go of
4.    Exercises  restraint when necessary
5.    Offers Dharma to others
6.    Meet seniors in the Dharma to inquire into the Dharma
7.    Cultivates inspiration and gladness in the Dharma
8.    Knows the way
9.    Understand the four applications of mindfulness, namely body, feelings, states of mind and Dharma.
10.    Practices moderation in terms of food, clothing, accommodation and medicine.
11.    Develops love (metta) through acts of body, speech and mind both openly and privately.
