‘Enlivening the Human Spirit’ – Day Retreat with Christopher Titmuss. Sunday 21 May 2023. 10 am – 4 pm. Brighton, Sussex. England.

We live in challenging times. Personal, Social and Global. It is easy to get disheartened and overwhelmed.

Venue. 113 Queens Rd, 5th floor, Conference Room, South Wing, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 3XG, United Kingdom.

Short retreat with Christopher held close to Brighton station.

Christopher Titmuss, a senior Dharma teacher in the West, offers retreats plus Zoom meetings in five time zones.
His teachings focus on insight meditation (vipassana), the expansive heart and freedom. Poet, social critic and blogger, he is the author of 22 books including Light on Enlightenment, Ten Years and Ten Days (a Memoir) and Poems from the Edge of Time.
He is the founder of Mindfulness Teacher Training Course, which has received a CPD (professional certificate for the training).Course starts in October 2023. www.mindfulnesstrainingcourse.org.

Attend a six-month module or two modules for 12 monoths. Christopher writes a weekly Dharma blog on a wide variety of global issues. A former Buddhist monk in Thailand and India, he has lived in Totnes, Devon, England since 1982.

Is Islam a threat to Western civilisation or is the West the real threat to itself?

I have much  affection and respect for the Muslim communities. I had the opportunity in 1967 and after to travel to Muslim countries – Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Sumatra/Java (Indonesia) plus numerous annual visits to Palestine between 1993 to 2019. I learnt to appreciate the virtues and not deny the vices of the Muslim world. I take much the same view of the West – much to appreciate and much to feel deep concern about.

As a founder of Prajna Vihar School in Bodh Gaya, India in 1992, we begun an inter-religious school to cultivate harmony and understanding between teachers and young people of different faiths and secular beliefs. Action speaks louder than words.
